Special Education EC–12 (161)

The Special Education EC–12 (161) exam will be retiring and replaced by the redeveloped Special Education Specialist EC–12 (186) exam. The last administration of the Special Education EC–12 (161) exam will be August 31, 2025.

Format

Computer-administered test (CAT) with 150 selected-response questions

Time

5 hours total appointment time

15 minutes for CAT tutorial and compliance agreement
4 hours and 45 minutes testing time
